Zbigniew Namokel
Thrown into our cell
Thrown onto the floor with bureaucratic hands
Where purgatory is inside of Pawiak
Writing on walls was all this child confessed to
Admitting no wrongdoing of deity
I felt I was dying
On this mattress of straw
Stinking of stale pus
From bed sores
Of before.
Namokel
Professed to
To nothing
Just read his
Bible for
Protection
A Jew in
Our low cell
Recalled him
Said we’re among friends
Namokel
Professed to
To nothing
Just read his
Bible for
Protection
I am not
Of your faith
I have nothing to cleanse inside
They took him outside
And was shot

A soft ache moves
In the soles of my feet
Sharpening with each gaze
Taunting with each taste
My vision is in yellow
A haze so sickly
A light that covers
A spotlight so foul
But the warmth is leading me
Holding my hand
To a place where black hounds
Run
Under the light
Of a red sun
They nip at their heels
They howl until dry
The sun holds me in it's palm
I am a seed
I am a lover
I am a smothered boy
In the palm of it's mother
I'm dropped into the ocean
When I sleep
I swim, through currents
So deep
Maybe when the fog
Shifts over the hill
I'll bleed into the vase
To feed your daffodils
For now
I'll split in two
These black dogs
Are dripping red
Bleed into the vase
Grow under the sun
Burst into heat
Rust over what's done
